Travel Mode

It is better to travel by car during the monsoon season because you will be able to enjoy the road, rainfall, and drive in fog. When I visited this place I went on a bike but I had a full-body raincoat which saved me from getting wet. I am recommending a car because you can keep extra clothes, food, a flask with hot tea or coffee as per your choice.

It is just much more convenient. If you want to drive your bike then this road is just amazing but make sure you are prepared for rain.

Road Condition

I would say the road condition is really good. Only when you are just about to reach Kondeshwar waterfalls, in the last patch of around 1 1/2 km. It is not the smoothest road you will ever get but it’s okay for driving the car or bike.

Best Season

The best season to visit the kondeshwar waterfall is the monsoon. At this time the hills are covered with clouds, the rain gives birth to the waterfall which becomes the river that you see while traveling here. The post-monsoon season is also a good choice as you can enjoy the cold weather and lush greenery.

You enter Kamshet you will see the lush greenery everywhere, the paddy fields, and the windmills far on the hills. Taking a break near these fields and soaking in the views is another thing you can do.

You can go to the source of the waterfall and click some amazing pictures like this. The water is chilled but comfortable enough to take a dip in it.

You can also visit and pray at the Temple which is located here. Kondeshwar mandir is visited by many pilgrims, they come here to pray from all over Maharashtra. The locals also perform aarti daily at the temple.

Best Time

If you are coming from Pune or Mumbai then make sure you leave early in the morning. It takes around 4 hours to reach there. If you leave early and reach there by 12 PM then you can easily explore the place and can return by 5 PM.

Toll Charges

From Pune, you will have to pay a toll at one of the toll plazas which comes just after Talegaon. I am not sure how many toll plazas you pass while coming from Mumbai. But I will update soon.

If you have any questions you can ask me here or connect with me on my Facebook page or Instagram. You can also subscribe to my YouTube channel to know about such places.

What’s so special?

They serve a famous Dal Makhani which is cooked overnight on the coal which makes it creamy and so delicious that you will not find a Dal makhani like that anywhere else.

Kake da hotel also serves a new kind of starter which is called Dahi ke Bhalle. They are basically bread stuffed with curd, mint, pudhina, and few spices mixed together.

Dahi ka mutton is another special dish which is owned by the kake da hotel. The soft and tender mutton is cooked in the dahi and other spices.

The delicious gravy goes really well with the naan and with the biryani rice which is served with this gravy.

From a wide variety of naan like garlic naan, butter naan, and stuffed naan.

Many items to choose from!

Starters

You can choose from a wide range of starters available at the Kake da hotel. On the vegetarian menu, you can choose between a number of kebabs made from Soya Chaap and Paneer.

There is a wide range of nonveg starters from which you can choose from like stuffed chicken tandoori leg pieces. This is a new dish which I saw the first time in any restaurant.

The chicken leg piece is stuffed with the minced chicken keema, it is half cooked in the spices and then stuffed back in the leg piece. This is a unique dish which you can try when you visit the kake da hotel.

They also serve Delhi-style biryani which is made by mixing the Biryani rice with the mutton or chicken gravy. This mixture is then put in the handi ( a pot made from clay ) which is sealed with the dough and steamed for 15 minutes.

That is served by them is also really good it is made with pure milk and it doesn’t have any additional things like ginger or cardamom. It is just a plain tea with sugar added for sweetness and it goes really well with the bun Maska!

The Keema pav was also savory and not that spicy which makes it good to have in the breakfast for Non-vegetarians.

What’s so special?

Geeta Pav Bhaji is taking this delicious dish to the next level and the secret behind that is the years of experience that goes behind its plate of Pav Bhaji. That is the reason it is on the best pav bhaji places in Pune.

Different options of Pav bhaji to choose from!

Ever heard about mushroom pav bhaji? well you will find that here 😀

There are many versions of Pav bhaji which is available at Geeta Pav Bhaji like Mushroom Pav bhaji, Cheese Pav bhaji, Geeta special pav bhaji, Paneer pav bhaji, Khada Pav bhaji, Khada paneer pav bhaji, Vaishnavi Pav bhaji, and even they have Jain Pav bhaji for our Jain brothers and sister 🙂

My favourite is the Mushroom pav bhaji which has the good ness of their regular pav bhaji with the sliced mushrooms which gives a different dimension to the pav bhaji.

What else they serve?

While they are famous for their Pav bhaji they do serve lots of different items like pulao, different options from juices, milkshakes, pizza, Tea, and Coffee.

Geeta Pav bhaji serves different variety of drinks which includes juices and milkshakes you can order as per your preference and they will serve fresh to you.

The pizza they serve here is delicious, the crust is soft and crunchy at the same time. The pizza sauce is also made in house which makes the pizza their own yet different from what we get in other places.

Different variety of pulao is served here which goes really well with Pav Bhaji. The price is also affordable if you are looking for a full meal that I will suggest you to have a plate of Pav Bhaji and pulav.

If you talk about the desert section that they have delicious rabdi which is nothing else but the condensed milk which is sweet and savory.

I really like the coffee which they serve here. It is frothy, little bit sweet version of the coffee. I remember we used to crave for this type of coffee and they were only served in the marriage functions that used to happen in the winter seasons.

apart from these items they also serve the regular idli dosa which I believe you should only eat if you are really craving for otherwise, I will suggest you try the Pav bhaji 😀

Distance

If you are leaving from Pune then you can go from the route as shown below. It passes through Peth, Manchar, Junnar, and Chawand. The road condition is good for driving both car and bike.

You will find a number of petrol pumps, restaurants, and Dhaba on the way.

Time Taken

If you leave early in the morning from Pune and you take a few breaks then you can easily reach in 4 hours. The time taken to reach without any break is 3 hours 30 minutes. I will suggest you leave early morning around 7 to 8 a.m. Take a few stops for breakfast etc. And you can easily do a round trip in one day.

Travel Mode

The best way to travel to Reverse waterfall Naneghat Pune is a car. Since the best season is the rainy season you will face intermittent rain falls in between the journey.

If you travel on a bike, you can easily get wet, but if people travel by car you can keep some stuff for a picnic and also you will be warm and safe from the rainfall.

I went to Naneghat reverse waterfall in a car with my friends and it was quite a comfortable journey it was raining in between so we were quite comfortable.

Road Condition

The road condition is good only the last stretch passing through junnar is narrow and bumpy.

via GIPHY

Other than that the road condition is really good and you can easily go by car or bike.

Best Season

No doubt the best season to visit Naneghat reverse waterfall is the monsoon season. The beauty of this place can be seen when water starts falling from the sky, the winds start to flow at high speed.

If you are coming from Pune or Mumbai then make sure you leave early in the morning. Junnar is far from the city, it takes around 4 hours to reach there. If you leave early and reach there by 12 PM then you can easily explore the place and can return by 4 PM.

Pitstop

I took break at the Vitthal Kamath for breakfast.

There is no entry fee so no need to worry about that.

Safety

The place is safe you can easily visit with your kids, friends, and family. But I will suggest leaving before the sunset as it is located on the outskirts and it will be quite dark after the evening.

One more thing you should take care of is you should not allow your kids to go away from you. There is the risk of falling down as there are no barricades at the cliff of the hill.

Parking

There is ample space for parking the car and bike. There are no charges for parking as well.

Washroom

There are few hotels located at the entry point of the hill but I didn’t find any washroom facility. If you get the natures call then find a spot where you can do it privately 😛

Once you park your car and start trekking towards the reverse waterfall point you will be greeted by views like these.

Click below to get the directions from your place.

Time Taken

It will take you around 1 hour to reach the sagni ghat, the traffic is very less as compared to the city but you will see a few passenger buses on the way.

Travel Mode

The distance is very less so if you are going with your friends or alone you can go by bike and if you are going with your family then go in the car.

Road Condition

The road belongs to the national highway 7 NH7 and due to which the condition is very good. It will not give you bumps. The road just before the river bank is made up of gravels which becomes muddy in the rainy season, so if you are taking your car with the low ground clearance then you need to be a bit careful.

This is the how the road looks like.

Best Season

The best season to visit sagni heart is winter and summer you can also visit in rainy season but you have to pace high water flow and it will become dangerous especially you if you are having kids with you.

So if you ask your Thelocalguide i will suggest you to visit in summer and winter season.

Best Time

The dawn is the morning time sunrise time is the best time to visit this place because the scenery so amazing you can enjoy the road,

They also serve tea made from fresh milk which is sourced from the village.

The entry is free and you can take your car or bike without paying any charges.

Safety

The place is safe and it is just a few kilometers away from the main NH7 highway, The villagers are helping in nature so there will not be an issue. The only danger is from the river itself. Take a bath only if you know how to swim don’t jump in the river because it is deep, you can also see snakes in them. Be extra careful if you are visiting with kids to pay attention to them.

This is how fast the flow of water is, that is why i am asking you to be careful if you want to take a dip in the river.

Stay

Distance

There are two different paths among which you can choose among

  • Nandgaon Rd and Arjunda Bhandera road
  • Dalli-Rajhara Rd/Durg Rajhara road

I will suggest you take the Rajnandgaon Dalli Rajhara Rd which is in really good condition covered with paddy fields on both sides of the road.

Time Taken

It will take you around 2 hours to reach the kharkhara dam, there will be few villages on the way but the traffic is really less and you will reach the destination in 2 hours.

Travel Mode

We choose to go by car rather than a bike because it was the summer season and it was really hot so we didn’t want to burn ourselves and get dehydrated. Also i do travel with a lot of camera equipment so it helps when you have a car.

Road Condition

The road is a bit bumpy when you are just about to reach the kharkhara dam as you can see in the clip below.

Other than that road condition is really good and you can easily take the car or bike.

Best Season

The best season to visit kharkhara dam is definitely winter but if you want to take a dip in the fresh and cool water of the canal then the summer season will be the best one. Also, you can have a picnic under the Big Banyan tree which is just located near the canal.

Best Time

The Dam is located on the outskirts of the city so it’s kind of remote so I will suggest you visit in the afternoon time. Try to for leave for kharkhara dam before 7:00 a.m. and then you can easily return before 4:00 p.m.

Toll Charges

You will not find any toll gates on the way to kharkhara dam. You can enjoy a toll-free road on the journey.

Pitstop

You will find several petrol pumps on the way along with the shops like these in villages where you can enjoy the hot and piping delicacies like aalo bonda

Entry Fees

The entry is free and you can take your car or bike without paying any charges.

Safety

The place is safe you can easily visit your kids with your friends with your family but I will suggest leaving before the sunset as it is located on the outskirts and the main city is few kilometers away.

Parking

There is ample space to park vehicles the best one which I found was this Banyan tree which was just located near the canal we will able to park are there and after that also there was so much space left.

Washroom

Well, you cannot do anything about this that is no place where you can go when you get the nature’s call you can do it under the tree.

Activities

You can do a picnic, sightseeing or you can take a dip in the fresh and cool water in the canal. The dam is extremely deep so make sure you take a dip only if you know how to swim.

Keep in mind the water flow is extremely high in the canal but in the summer season, so you can just be at the side of the water canal and you can take bath

But make sure you are not alone your kids to go alone in their otherwise they will be in danger.

Stay

There is no option to stay nearby there are two villages but I don’t think you can stay there so better to leave early and come early from there.
